Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has taken down all posts and videos related to the rumoured divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia.
The singer, who confirmed the reports himself, made the sudden move to delete the content on Monday, leaving fans and followers puzzled.
The controversy started on Sunday, January 26, 2025, when 2Face, in a now-deleted post on his Instagram page, announced his split from Annie, his wife of 12 years.
The unexpected revelation caused an uproar among fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry, as many questioned the authenticity of the claim.
Hours after the initial announcement, 2Baba took down the post and told the public that his account had been hacked. But just when people began to accept his explanation, the singer posted a video clarifying that the message was not the result of a hack.
Speaking in Pidgin English, he admitted, “Hello my people, nobody hacked my account. Na me talk weytin I won yan.”
However, by Monday morning, a fresh twist emerged as all traces of the divorce drama vanished from his Instagram account.
This saga has raised eyebrows, especially considering 2Face’s long-standing reputation as one of Nigeria’s most beloved artists. Known for his classic hits like African Queen and If Love is a Crime, 2Face’s personal life has often been in the spotlight, particularly his marriage to Annie, which has been celebrated and, at times, criticised by the public.
While some netizens have expressed disappointment over the back-and-forth, others have shown concern about the emotional toll such incidents could have on the couple and their family. The reactions on social media have been intense, with many urging the singer to clarify his position.
