When business leaders, policymakers and sundry stakeholders gather in the next couple of days for the Alaro City’s trade summit to be held in Lagos, strategies for boosting domestic production will be top of trade and economic issues to be discussed.
Discussants will also be offering actionable insights into innovative solutions to reduce import reliance, building a sustainable trade environment, and leveraging free zones for economic development, as well as sharing knowledge on enterprises’ financial sustainability.
Alaro City is a 2,000-hectare city development located within the Northwest Quadrant of the Lekki Free Zone in Lagos. It is one of the well-planned emerging cities in Nigeria. It is being developed and promoted by Rendeavour –Africa’s biggest new city builder.
The City, which prides itself as the most business-friendly free zone in Nigeria, says it is delighted to host this inaugural trade summit with the theme, ‘Positioning Nigeria as a Production Economy,’ that will be holding on May 30, 2024, at Four Points by Sheraton, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Expected at the summit are industry leaders and policymakers who will be offering insights on strategies for transforming Nigeria’s economy and fostering a production-driven future.
Among them are Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment; Mosopefolu George, Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, both of Lagos State, and Owen Akinwande, Plant Director at Cadbury Nigeria.
“This trade summit is strategic for stakeholders within the Nigerian business ecosystem to forge invaluable connections with key decision-makers, and influencers across various sectors,” Yomi Ademola, the managing director of Alaro City, explained in a statement in Lagos.
