The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has officially announced the revocation of provisional housing allocations under the National Housing Programme (NHP) for all recipients who failed to make full payment within the stipulated 90-day period, including an additional eight-week grace period.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and signed by Salisu Badamasi Haiba, Director of Press and Public Relations, the Ministry explained that this decision strictly applies to beneficiaries who did not fulfill the outright payment requirement within the specified timeframe. “The revocation is in line with Paragraph 2 of the Provisional Offer of Allocation Letters issued to all beneficiaries,” the statement noted, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to transparency and efficient management of the housing program.
Dr. Shuaib Muhammad Belgore, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, emphasized that the action only affects those who defaulted on payments. “All beneficiaries who successfully completed their payments on or before the February 28, 2025 deadline remain unaffected by this revocation,” Belgore stated. He directed compliant beneficiaries to immediately visit the Ministry to collect their Letters of Allocation and take possession of their allocated houses.
For public accountability, the Ministry has published the complete list of affected individuals whose provisional allocations have been revoked on its official website (https://fmhud.gov.ng). The list will also appear in the Daily Trust, The Nation, and Leadership newspapers during the first week of April 2025.
