Eleven new Supreme Court justices will be sworn in next week.
As requested by President Bola Tinubu, the Senate approved the 11 judges in December 2023.
The Justices billed for swearing-in are:
North Central: Hon. Justice Jummai Hannatu Sankey, OFR and Hon. Justice Stephen Jonah Adah
North East: Hon. Justice Mohammed Baba Idris and Hon. Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani
North West: Hon. Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur and Hon. Justice Abubakar Sadiq Umar
South East: Hon. Justice Chidiebere Nwaoma Uwa, Hon. Justice Chioma Egondu Nwosu-Iheme and Hon. Justice Obande Festus Ogbuinya
South South: Hon. Justice Moore Aseimo A. Adumein
South West: Hon. Justice Habeeb Adewale O. Abiru
When sworn in, the apex court will have the full complement of 21 justices, as stipulated in the Constitution.
